The first thing to do is to read the short
project overview.
Next have a look at the short document
How can I use SOCKET which summarises the
different ways in which socketization of Web service WSDL documents can be
carried out.
Now perhaps have a quick play with the demo socketized Bodington to see what the end result
might look like.
If you are planning to experiment with SOCKET then it is recommended that you use the 1.0 final release that will be
published on Friday 27 October 2006. This release will be able to deal with complex data types in the WSDL
document (the present 1.0-beta-2 version handles only simple types).
The simplest way of taking a WSDL and producing a Web application containing the consumer
software for the Web service is to use either the
Pluto or
Saturn program. Pluto is a command line client
for the SOCKET engine, and Saturn is a Web application client with form-based input.
